MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award 2017: 1st place for a very special grill!
Toni Meggle recognised again courageous entrepreneurs from the region with a total award budget of 50.000 Euros.
Metal constructor Andreas Weinfurtner from Riedering (district Rosenheim) won the MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award 2017! The entrepreneur convinced the judges with his handmade and high-value grill, the so called “Kugelblitz”. Weinfurtner has been producing and selling this special grill since 2013.
Spokesman of the judges, Gerd Maas, described the reasons why the “Kugelblitz” reached the first prize and received 25.000 Euro: “The connection between the solid craftsmanship and this really new innovation makes the difference”. Furthermore, Weinfurtner has created a new market segment and has been using consistent distribution channels.
Once again Dr. Sonja Lechner M.A. was responsible for the enjoyable presentation and moderation in Wasserburg’s town hall. She started her speech with a short retrospective. With this 6th episode of the MEGGLE Enterprise Award Toni Meggle has been supporting young entrepreneurs with a total of 300.000 Euros:
“For Marina and Toni Meggle this event is a matter of the heart. They accompany this award from the call for tender, the visit of the companies up to the final award ceremony in this beautiful town hall.” says Dr. Lechner. Toni Meggle has a decade-long experience as entrepreneur – he knows which problems and challenges can arise.
Entrepreneurs are an essential part of the society, which is more and more changing as Prof. Dr. Dr. Udo Di Fabio, a former constitutional judge in Germany, described in his speech. He was the guest of honor at the evening and discussed his views with Dr. Lechner and the invited guests.
Then the 2016’s award winners were given the chance for a short review of their last year before it was time for the three winners of this year. At first, prizewinners were introduced by short image films that were produced a few days before.
The 3rd place goes to Wanner GmbH, a business consulting for smaller companies. The business located in Mühldorf (Inn) earned 10.000 Euros.
Gepedu GmbH creates and produces online based test methods. These are available in several languages and also one is provided in simple German so young migrants can use these tests as well. Managing directors Christian Buss and Christoph Vogt were happy for the 2nd prize and 15.000 Euros trophy money.
The first winner of this evening was doubtless the “Kugelblitz”. With his idea of creating a round and impressive grill, that heats just the barbecue food on top and not the exterior, Weinfurtner fulfilled all the expectations of the judges. The first place of the Young Enterprise Award is endowed with 25.000 Euros.
