Girls‘ Day at MEGGLE
It is the biggest project for the vocational orientation of young girls: the Girls’ Day. MEGGLE introduced its full range of different training professions – also jobs that are supposed to be “men professions”.
Dairy company MEGGLE has opened its doors according to the Girls’ Day’s slogan. 17 pupils have signed in – all available positions were booked very quickly. Instead of sitting at the school desk, the pupils experienced a very interesting day at a family-owned company.
The girls had the chance to learn more about jobs that are rarely practiced by women, for example milk technologist, industry mechanic or electrician. Trainers and the current apprentices presented their work places and area of responsibility at MEGGLE. Within one day, the students got insights in a diversified and exciting working field in the production area or in the workshop.
“With this project we took the opportunity to present the various professions at MEGGLE to girls”, says Ramona Binder, MEGGLE’s Head of Personnel Development.
The Girls’ Day was established in 2001. Since then 1.9 million girls have participated at this project. They all collected precious experiences – also the 17 students who joined the Girls’ Day at MEGGLE 2019.
