In 1887, MEGGLE was established by Josef Anton Meggle I. as a small cheese dairy close to Wasserburg in Bavaria, near Munich. Today, this company, steeped in tradition, ranks among the most renowned manufacturers of dairy products not only in Europe but also in Asia and America. We are active on an international level, making local milk, cheese, cream, and yoghurt products for the regional European market to high quality standards, plus butter and butter specialities and baguettes with fillings for both bulk and end consumers. In addition, powdered milk products are produced as speciality goods for the processing pharmaceutical and food industries and are distributed worldwide. The MEGGLE Group has a global headcount of more than 2,500 and generates a turnover of approx. 1 billion Euro with the development, production and marketing of high-quality milk and whey products. Milk At present, 9,500 farmers in eight countries are supplying us with around 800 million kilograms of milk annually. Approx. 1,000 of these supply their milk to our headquarters at Wasserburg. This milk is used by our local production facilities to make a variety of products and to market these products in the respective countries. |
Whey |

Each day, MEGGLE processes 600,000 - 700,000 litres of milk, 150,000 - 200,000 litres of cream, and 5 - 6 million litres of whey at its Wasserburg plant. A major part of the raw materials is purchased from farmers and cheese dairies in the immediate surroundings and from countries bordering on this plant.
